Hi there .I have just foundyour site on the net so will watch where you are going now.I have just retuned to Perth after a trip to Adelaide /Darwin/Perth.I would just like to warn people with wind up vans to beware if you have trouble with the cables.My main cable needed replacing & the quotes started at $400.00 to $1000.00.After a bit of thought I decided to have a look myself. $8.00 & 3 hours labour my van was fixed.If I can be of help to any of you in Perth or elsewhere please feel free to contact me.Also if you are travelling & in the Perth area with trouble I will try & assist you . Found your site under Land Rover Australia.My wife Jeanette and I intend to do a very similar trip to yourselves. Our new caravan 17.5 ft Jayco with Tandem axil is expected in the next few days. I am considering a new Discovery TD5 auto white as yours is. We do not intend taking the caravan off the bituman however want the capability of going off road during the trip to sight see etc hense the 4 X 4. Your comments on the capability and reliabilty of the Discovery would be most welcome. Your set up made my heart quicken as our planned set up is so close to what you have, including the boat. I wish you well. I am green with envy. The day we set off cant come quick enough.
Good to hear you had a good xmas we did likewise although ours was probably a bit quieter Larry & Bron had a daughter[Ella Rose] on Jan 11 We are coming over on March 6 for two weeks Who knows we might come back for good.Will send youan update while were there Love Tony &Jenny
